Job summary

Thrive SW is seeking an experienced Carpenter / Fire Door Maintenance Engineer to deliver a comprehensive fire door maintenance service across Bristol and surrounding areas. You will inspect, maintain, and repair fire doors, ensuring compliance with current regulations, and perform general carpentry tasks such as skirting, architrave, locks and hinges.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 2 in Carpentry or equivalent.
• Strong carpentry and maintenance skills.
• Knowledge of current fire door legislation and standards.
• Experience inspecting, maintaining and repairing fire doors.
• Clear communication with clients and stakeholders.
• Ability to produce professional reports and documentation.
• Proficient with IT systems and record-keeping.
• Hands-on, practical problem-solving approach.
• Ability to work independently with high workmanship standards.

Responsibilities

• Carry out maintenance and repair works on fire doors across Bristol and surrounding area.
• Ensure all works comply with Building Regulations, fire door legislation and standards.
• Prepare accurate quotations detailing labour and materials.
• Liaise with clients regarding queries and product specifications.
• Inspect completed works and certify fire doors meet standards.
• Submit relevant certification and maintain client records.
• Maintain job records and progress in internal systems.
• Work within customer SLAs and ensure professional delivery.
• Support accounts with invoicing queries and maintain stakeholder relationships.
