Job summary

Redline Group Ltd is seeking a Development Engineer to join its engineering team in Cambridge, contributing to the research, development and testing of innovative fire detection technologies.

The Development Engineer will work across new product development and sustaining engineering, applying electronics knowledge and Python/MATLAB for analysis, with hands-on prototype testing and clear data reporting.

Qualifications

• Practical engineering, product development, R&D or technical investigation experience.
• Knowledge of electronics, schematics, datasheets and circuit prototyping.
• Experience using Python or MATLAB for engineering analysis or test automation.
• Hands-on experience with prototypes, test equipment and experimental setups.

Responsibilities

• Carrying out technical research, investigations and prototype testing
• Evaluating competitor products and alternative technologies
• Analysing test results and engineering data to support development decisions
• Conducting bench testing, fault finding and root-cause analysis
• Producing technical reports and communicating findings to engineering teams
• Working collaboratively across development and production engineering teams
• Supporting the development of robust, high-quality fire detection products
