Job summary
Checkmate Fire Solutions Ltd is seeking a competent Fire Damper Engineer to join our Dampers division in the UK. The role involves inspection, testing, and remediation of fire dampers across various buildings, with regular travel across the UK.
The ideal candidate will have experience with fire dampers or HVAC systems, strong knowledge of fire safety regulations, and qualifications in testing, cleaning, inspecting and installation. A UK driving licence and relevant training are essential.
Qualifications
- Experience with fire dampers or HVAC systems.
- Strong understanding of fire safety regulations (BS9999, HTM05-02, BESA).
- Relevant qualifications in fire damper testing, cleaning, inspecting and installation.
Responsibilities
- Deliver scheduled inspections and one-off project inspections.
- Assess building maintenance records and drawings (compartmentation).
- Perform remedial works on dampers including repairs and installations.
- Submit building checklists on project completion.
- Attend pre-starts and related meetings.
- Support operations teams in understanding remedial requirements and building complexities.
