Job summary

Tech-People is seeking a Fire Damper Engineer to inspect, test and maintain fire and smoke dampers across commercial sites in London and surrounding areas. You will identify faults, carry out remedial works and ensure compliance with safety standards.

The role offers a competitive package with up to £40,000 plus a company van, fuel card and holiday benefits. A full UK driving licence and enhanced DBS are required or preferred.

Qualifications

• Must have a clear Enhanced DBS check.
• Experience carrying out remedial and maintenance works on fire dampers.
• Good fault-finding and problem-solving skills.
• Knowledge of relevant British Standards and fire safety requirements.

Responsibilities

• Carry out inspection and testing of fire and smoke dampers.
• Perform planned and reactive fire damper maintenance.
• Identify faults, defects and non-compliant dampers.
• Carry out remedial works, repairs and replacement of defective dampers.
• Clean, lubricate and ensure dampers operate correctly.
• Check access panels for inspection and maintenance.
• Prepare detailed inspection reports and record test results.
• Photograph and document defects or remedial requirements.
• Liaise with clients, site teams and building management.
• Ensure works comply with British Standards, legislation and manufacturer guidelines.

Fire Damper Engineer

Up to £40,000 + Van + Fuel Card + Package

A leading Building Services contractor is seeking an experienced Fire Damper Engineer to join their team, working across commercial buildings throughout London and surrounding areas.

This is a great opportunity to work with a reputable and well-established business, carrying out fire damper inspection, testing, maintenance and remedial works across a range of commercial sites.

The Role:

• Carrying out inspection and testing of fire and smoke dampers.
• Completing planned and reactive fire damper maintenance.
• Identifying faults, defects and non-compliant fire dampers.
• Carrying out remedial works, repairs and replacement of defective dampers.
• Cleaning, lubricating and ensuring fire dampers are operating correctly.
• Checking access panels and ensuring dampers are accessible for inspection and maintenance.
• Completing detailed inspection reports and recording test results accurately.
• Taking photographs and documenting any defects or remedial requirements.
• Liaising professionally with clients, site teams and building management.
• Ensuring all works are completed in accordance with relevant British Standards, legislation and manufacturer guidelines.

Requirements:
