Job summary

FS Recruitment Services client is seeking an experienced Fire Alarm Engineer to service, fault-find and install conventional and addressable fire alarm systems within a 50 mile radius of Sheffield. The role requires working independently, liaising with clients on site and completing accurate reports.

The position offers a salary up to £45,000 (dependent on experience), a company van with personal use, 22 days holiday plus bank holidays, ongoing training and pension scheme.

Qualifications

• Proven experience servicing, fault finding and installing fire alarm systems (conventional and addressable).
• Full UK driving license is essential.
• Excellent communication and a professional, customer-focused approach.
• Qualifications such as FIA units or BAFE are desirable.

The Company

Our client is a well-established fire and security systems provider, known for delivering high-quality installation, maintenance, and fault-finding services across South Yorkshire and beyond. Due to continued growth, they are now looking to add an experienced Fire Alarm Engineer to their team.

The Role

As a Fire Alarm Engineer, you will be responsible for the servicing, fault finding, and installation of conventional and addressable fire alarm systems for a varied client base within a 50 mile radius of Sheffield. Key Responsibilities

• Servicing and maintaining conventional and addressable fire alarm systems
• Diagnosing and resolving faults efficiently and to a high standard
• Installing new fire alarm systems in line with British Standards (BS 5839)
• Working independently and managing your own workload/diary
• Liaising professionally with clients on site
• Completing accurate paperwork/reports following each visit
• Working safely and in compliance with health & safety regulations

What We're Looking For

• Proven experience servicing, fault finding, and installing fire alarm systems
• Strong knowledge of conventional and addressable systems
• Relevant qualifications (e.g. FIA units, BAFE) desirable
• Full UK driving licence (essential)
• Excellent communication skills and a professional, customer-focused approach
• Ability to work independently and manage own schedule
