Business Development Manager Fire & Security Glasgow

I'm exclusively recruiting on behalf of a well-established fire and security company based in Glasgow. This is a key hire and an exciting opportunity to become the company's first ever Business Development Manager, taking ownership of their commercial growth and shaping the future of their sales function.

Location: Glasgow
Salary: 45,000 to 55,000 basic + company car + uncapped commission (2.5%-3.5%)
OTE: Circa 75,000

About the Role:
This is not just another sales role. As the first BDM hire, you'll play a strategic and hands-on role in scaling the commercial side of the business. You'll be targeting new clients, developing long-term relationships, and ultimately helping the company achieve its ambitious growth goals.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and execute a targeted sales strategy to grow the commercial client base
  • Win new business with annual targets of 750k- 1M in sales revenue
  • Manage the full sales cycle: prospecting, pitching, negotiating, and closing
  • Build strong, lasting relationships with key stakeholders and decision-makers
  • Work closely with operations and service teams to ensure delivery excellence
  • Provide insightful sales reports and forecasts to senior management

  • Proven track record in business development or B2B sales, ideally in the fire and security industry (but open to related sectors)
  • Commercially sharp, highly motivated, and confident in a standalone role
  • Strong communication, negotiation, and presentation skills
  • Someone who thrives on autonomy and is ready to build something from the ground up

Package Includes:
  • 45,000 to 55,000 basic salary
  • Company car
  • Commission: 2.5% to 3.5% of total sales
  • On-target earnings of approximately 75,000, with uncapped potential
