HP4 Recruitment Ltd is seeking an experienced Fire Alarm Engineer / Fire & Emergency Lighting Technician in London. You will service, maintain and repair fire alarm and emergency lighting systems across South East London, South West London, North Kent and Surrey, delivering high-quality safety standards and compliance.

The role offers £42,000 basic salary, 25 days leave, a company car or van, and overtime/call-out opportunities to enhance earnings.

Qualifications

• Hands-on experience servicing fire alarm and emergency lighting systems.
• Knowledge of addressable and conventional fire alarm systems.
• Understanding of industry standards and compliance.
• Experience with aspirating detection systems is a plus.
• Good diagnostic and problem-solving skills.
• Full UK driving license and ability to travel.
• Willingness to travel across service area.

Responsibilities

• Carry out planned preventive maintenance on fire alarm and emergency lighting systems.
• Diagnose faults, complete repairs and respond to breakdowns.
• Undertake inspections, testing and fault finding, producing technical reports.
• Ensure work complies with British Standards and health and safety requirements.
• Work on addressable and conventional fire alarms, aspirating, beam, flame detection, disabled refuge and nurse call systems.
• Complete minor installations and small works.
• Maintain service records and documentation.
• Deliver excellent customer service and relationships.
• Travel to customer sites across the service area.

Fire Alarm Engineer / Fire & Emergency Lighting Technician

Are you an experienced Fire Alarm Engineer or Fire & Emergency Lighting Technician looking for your next career move?

The Role

You will be responsible for maintaining, servicing, testing and repairing fire alarm and emergency lighting systems across customer sites throughout South East London, South West London, North Kent and Surrey.

Key Responsibilities

• Carry out planned preventative maintenance, servicing and remedial works on fire alarm and emergency lighting systems.
• Diagnose faults, complete repairs and respond to system breakdowns.
• Undertake inspections, testing and fault finding, producing accurate technical reports.
• Ensure all work complies with relevant British Standards, industry regulations and health and safety requirements.
• Work on a variety of fire and life safety systems, including addressable and conventional fire alarms, aspirating detection, beam detection, flame detection, disabled refuge systems, disabled toilet alarms and nurse call systems.
• Complete occasional minor installations and small works.
• Maintain accurate service records and system documentation.
• Deliver excellent customer service and build positive relationships with customers.
• Travel to customer sites across the designated service area.

About You

We're looking for a proactive and technically capable engineer who takes pride in delivering high-quality work and maintaining excellent standards of safety and compliance.

You will ideally have:

• Proven hands-on experience servicing, maintaining and fault-finding fire alarm and emergency lighting systems.
• Knowledge of both addressable and conventional fire alarm systems.
• A good understanding of relevant industry standards and compliance requirements.
• Experience with aspirating detection systems, which would be advantageous.
• Strong diagnostic, troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication and customer service abilities.
• The ability to work independently, manage your workload and maintain accurate records.
• A full UK driving licence and flexibility to travel between customer sites.

An EAL Level 3 or FIA qualification in Fire Alarm and Emergency Lighting Systems would be beneficial but is not essential, as training and development opportunities are available.

Occasional overnight stays may be required.
