Job summary

Protec Fire & Security Group Ltd in Fareham is seeking an installer to work on the supply, fit and commissioning of fire alarm and associated equipment on client premises.

You will install new systems and additions, maintain knowledge of circuits, ensure health and safety compliance, manage cables, and communicate professionally with customers while building strong relationships.

Qualifications

• Experience in the Fire Alarm sector is preferred.
• Knowledge of electrical circuits and measuring devices is desirable.
• Familiarity with health and safety requirements and safe working practices.

Responsibilities

• Install and commission fire alarm and related equipment on client premises, including new systems and additions.
• Maintain knowledge of circuits and measuring devices and undertake training where necessary.
• Install cable management systems such as tray and trunking.
• Adhere to Health & Safety guidelines to ensure personal and site safety.
• Keep client premises clean and respect their property at all times.
• Communicate professionally with staff at varying levels to strengthen relationships.

Job description

To work on the supply, fit and commission of Fire Alarm and associated equipment. You will be responsible for the installation of new systems as well as additions to existing systems installed by Protec Fire and Security Group and others.

Typical Responsibilities

• The installation and commissioning of Fire Alarm and associated equipment on client premises. Both new systems and additions to existing systems.
• To maintain a working knowledge of circuits and measuring devices and an understanding and respect of electrical circuits as well as undertaking training courses where necessary.
• Installation of cable management systems such as tray and trunking.
• Working within all Health and Safety guidelines, both site and company specific, to ensure the safety of yourself and those around you.
• Ensuring a clean working environment as well as respecting our clients’ premises at all times.
• To act as a Company Ambassador. You must be smart in appearance, pleasant in attitude and capable of communicating diplomatically to strengthen customer relationships.
• The safe and appropriate use of hand and powered tools when required.
• Any other duties commensurate with your position.

Qualifications

• A full Electrical based qualification such as City & Guilds, NVQ, ONC, HNC etc

Experience

• Experience of working within the Fire Alarm sector
• A working knowledge of electrical circuits and measuring devices
• Familiarity with safe working practices and Health & Safety requirements

• Excellent customer service skills
• Competent using technology such as laptops, measuring devices, smart phones etc
• Ability to maintain accurate records whilst regularly submitting customer and company paperwork in a timely manner
