Alecto Recruitment Limited is seeking a Fire Service Engineer based in Cramlington, Newcastle, covering the North East. The role involves servicing and maintaining fire alarm systems for a range of clients.

Responsibilities

• Undertake scheduled servicing and reactive callouts on fire alarm systems.

• Test and document systems according to BS 5839 and procedures.
• Produce accurate service reports and liaise with clients.
• Work independently on site and participate in out-of-hours rota as needed.

Fire Service Engineer

Job Summary -

• Undertake scheduled servicing and reactive callouts on conventional and addressable fire alarm systems.
• Diagnose and resolve faults, complete repairs, panel replacements and minor modifications.
• Test and document systems in accordance with BS 5839 and company procedures.
• Produce accurate service reports, identify remedial works and liaise professionally with clients.
• Work independently while managing a site-based workload and participating in an out-of-hours call-out rota where required.

Qualifications and Skills

• Proven experience servicing and maintaining fire alarm systems, ideally across multiple manufacturers.
• Strong fault-finding skills and a good understanding of electrical principles and wiring.
• Working knowledge of BS 5839, with relevant FIA, FireQual, manufacturer or equivalent training desirable.
• Ability to read technical drawings, schematics and system documentation.
• Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel.
