Job summary

Bryland Fire is hiring a Fire Installation & Commissioning Engineer to install, test, commission, service and hand over fire protection systems across the UK. You will read drawings, ensure compliance with BS standards and work closely with clients and site teams.

The role requires proven installation/commissioning experience, a valid UK driving license, and willingness to travel nationally. ECS/CSCS cards and FIA training are desirable.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in the installation and commissioning of fire alarm systems and related fire protection systems.
• Good working knowledge of BS 5839 and BS 5266 and other fire safety regs.
• Ability to fault-find and troubleshoot independently.
• Experience with a range of fire alarm panels and equipment manufacturers.
• Strong understanding of electrical systems and site-based installation practices.

Responsibilities

• Install fire alarm, detection, emergency lighting, and related fire protection systems.
• Carry out commissioning, testing, fault-finding and handover in line with BS and company procedures.
• Interpret technical drawings and wiring diagrams.
• Ensure installations comply with regulations and client requirements.
• Complete commissioning certificates, test records and service reports.
• Liaise with clients, site managers, subcontractors and internal teams.
• Diagnose and resolve on-site technical issues efficiently.
• Support project completion within deadlines and budgets.
• Maintain high health and safety standards.
• Provide technical advice on system operation.
