Job summary

JAM Recruitment Ltd is seeking a Fire Alarm Installation and Commissioning Engineer for roles across the West Midlands, including Birmingham, Coventry, Wolverhampton and Dudley. The role offers a basic salary of £38,000 to £43,000, plus overtime, travel expenses, a company vehicle and benefits.

You will install, test and commission fire detection, alarm, emergency lighting and suppression systems for commercial, industrial and residential clients.

Qualifications

• Experience installing and commissioning fire alarm systems.
• Knowledge of BS 5839, BS 5266 and fire-safety regulations.
• Strong fault-finding and troubleshooting skills.
• Full UK driving licence.
• FIA training and experience with integrated fire and life-safety systems would be advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Installing fire alarm, detection and emergency lighting systems.
• Testing, commissioning and fault-finding.
• Reading technical drawings, specifications and wiring diagrams.
• Completing commissioning certificates, test records and reports.
• Diagnosing and resolving technical issues on site.
• Liaising with clients, site managers and subcontractors.
• Supporting projects through to successful completion.
• Providing customers with system operation guidance.
• Maintaining high health and safety standards.
