Job summary

Harmony Fire Ltd. is seeking a Field Engineer to join our Service Delivery team covering London & SE or the Midlands. You will perform planned and reactive maintenance on fire alarm systems across a varied client portfolio, ensuring compliance and high-quality certification on every site visit.

The role is field-based with a focus on accurate documentation, testing, and commissioning. You will manage your diary regionally, use a company vehicle, and contribute to a team that values accuracy,

Qualifications

• Proven hands-on experience maintaining and servicing fire alarm systems to BS 5839.
• Strong fault-finding and diagnostic skills across a range of fire alarm panel types and manufacturers.
• Experience producing compliant service records, commissioning documentation, and certification.
• Comfortable working independently across a regional patch, managing your own diary and travel schedule.
• High attention to detail and thorough service documentation.

Responsibilities

• Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) on fire alarm systems in line with BS 5839 and client requirements, ensuring all works are completed accurately and on programme.
• Respond to reactive call-outs, diagnosing and resolving faults efficiently and effectively to minimise system downtime.
• Produce accurate, fully compliant service records and certification after every visit, ensuring documentation meets BS 5839 and client standards.
• Carry out commissioning and handover of new fire alarm installations, completing all test records and certification to the required standard.
• Identify defects, remedial requirements, and system upgrades, communicating findings clearly to clients and the Service team.
• Maintain your van stock, test equipment, and tools to the required standard at all times.
• Liaise with clients, building managers, and site contacts professionally, representing Harmony’s brand with confidence.
• Complete all job management system entries accurately and on time, including time logging, parts usage, and site notes.
• Participate in the out-of-hours emergency callout rota as required.
