Job summary

Energy Jobline CVL is seeking an experienced Fire Alarm Engineer to join a technically focused team delivering projects across South West London, South London and the South East. The role blends practical engineering with a strong understanding of fire safety standards to ensure first-time-right outcomes.

Responsibilities include designing, installing and commissioning fire alarm systems (conventional, addressable and wireless), producing detailed site reports, and supporting client audits.

Qualifications

• Practical experience in fire alarm design, installation, commissioning and fault finding.
• Experience designing and installing emergency lighting systems.
• Knowledge of British Standards and fire safety requirements.
• Ability to interpret technical information and produce reports and documentation.
• Strong diagnostic and problem-solving skills; proactive in issue resolution.
• Ability to manage workload and travel across London and the South East.

Responsibilities

• Carrying out site surveys and producing clear, detailed technical reports, including findings, recommendations and proposed remedial works.
• Designing, installing and commissioning conventional, addressable and wireless fire alarm systems.
• Designing and installing emergency lighting systems.
• Inspecting existing installations, identifying defects and recommending appropriate corrective action.
• Investigating faults, attending call-outs during normal working hours and completing repairs within your area of competence.
• Producing accurate system drawings, commissioning records, certificates and handover documentation.
• Supporting BAFE audits through the preparation and review of technical records and completed project documentation.
• Providing practical guidance, training and technical support to junior engineers.
• Liaising professionally with clients, contractors and colleagues to coordinate work and communicate technical findings.
