Job summary

TechniFire Solutions Limited is seeking experienced Small Works Engineers to join the Operations Team. You will service fire alarm systems (addressable and non-addressable), gas suppression, and aspirating systems, perform small works, fault finding, and commissioning.

You will complete electronic job sheets, manage out-of-hours callouts, and maintain equipment. Strong communication with office and clients is essential, with adherence to BS5839 standards.

Qualifications

• Several years working within the fire alarm industry.
• Ability to carry out PPM and fault finding on Advanced, Morley, Kentec and GENT systems.
• Ability to carry out basic commissioning on Advanced, Morley, Kentec and GENT and update software when required.
• Experience in maintenance, fault finding and remedial works on Gas Suppression and aspirating systems.
• Good knowledge of manufacturers PC software and ability to take downloads of configurations and event logs.
• Use of PDAs to complete worksheets and make recommendations.

Responsibilities

• Completion of fire alarm servicing for small, medium and large scale sites for both addressable and non-addressable systems including gas suppression and aspirating systems.
• Carry out small works on a wide range of fire alarm equipment and complete commissioning.
• Fault finding on all systems.
• All works are carried out to BS5839 with the ability to identify design or compliance errors and create reports.
• Dutifully complete electronic job sheets with details of works completed and any issues found.
• Carry out repairs when required, finishing within identified timeframes.
• Ability to solve problems whilst building customer relationships.
• Maintain company-issued equipment including vehicle, PPE and uniform; report damaged or missing items to Line Manager.
• Complete cause and effect testing and produce matrix results with programming solutions when required.
• Installation knowledge of IEE wiring regulations/cable containment.
