Job Description: Service Engineer
Our Service Engineers deliver preventative maintenance, routine service, and remedial works in the field related to site-wide Fire Detection and Gas Suppression systems of customer premises. Typical systems include conventional, addressable fire detection and alarm systems, networked systems, graphics packages, and gas extinguishing systems.
The successful candidate will be confident working independently as well as part of a team, taking direction from their manager, and meeting the requirements of both the customer and the business. The ideal candidate will take personal responsibility for service delivery, quality, and health and safety, acting as a role model to meet and exceed customer expectations, and advising on remedial actions and potential upgrades.

How You Will Do It
- Perform and complete all service works, including integrity testing
- Accurately record timings and all service documentation using provided iPad and service software
- Identify deficiencies, and promote materials and product sales
- Deliver a first-class customer service experience
- Conform to all QEHS regulations and participate in all required training to maintain a zero-harm workplace
- Sign up for RAMS, PPE, toolbox talks, van audits, and accident investigations
- Participate in continuous performance improvement, training, and development
- Engage in internal technical audits
- Assist in coaching new apprentices
- Act as a key link between the customer and Field Line Manager, ensuring effective communication of work carried out and works required
- Complete and pass security vetting programs, including Disclosure Scotland, enhanced screening, and CT checks as needed
What We Look For
Required
- Experience in a service-focused business
- Full UK driving license
- Experience in fire detection and protection industry
- Knowledge of fire legislation and standards
- Understanding of fire detection and alarm systems and associated devices
Preferred
- Understanding of gas suppression systems and their maintenance
- Experience in leading teams, coaching, and staff development
