Fire Alarm Engineer Blake Contractors is looking for a Fire Alarm Engineerwith strong fire alarm experience to join our team in Southend on Sea on a full-time, permanent basis.

About the role:

As our Fire Alarm Engineer working across Essex and London you will join a growing team to install, maintain, and troubleshoot systems across various sites, including commercial and domestic properties. The working hours for this role will be Monday Friday, 40-48 hours per week. In addition, there is an on-call rota which requires you to be available 1 week in 9. There s also an opportunity to work overtime and weekends too.

Main duties and responsibilities:

  • Install, maintain, and repair fire alarm systems in accordance with BS5839 Part-1:2025 and relevant fire safety regulations.
  • Conduct thorough fault finding and diagnostics to ensure optimal system performance and compliance.
  • Maintain accurate records of work performed and ensure all servicing is completed to BAFE SP203-1 standards.
  • Collaborate with team members on larger contracts, when necessary.
  • Stay updated with the latest industry regulations and qualifications to continually enhance your skill set.

About you:

As a Fire Alarm Engineer, you will be enthusiastic and driven with a solid understanding in fire alarm systems and comprehensive knowledge of electronic and electrical applications (BS5839 Part-1:2025), alongside strong fault-finding diagnostic skills. You will be a keen learner and an excellent communicator, in addition, having a strong commitment to delivering outstanding customer service is essential. A full UK Driving Licence is also essential along with knowledge of Kentec, Morley and Advance.
