Get Staff is seeking an experienced Fire Alarm Engineer to join our permanent team in Newcastle upon Tyne. You will maintain and fault-find fire alarm systems across varied customer sites, ensuring safety and compliance while delivering professional service on-site.

The role demands strong technical knowledge, effective communication with clients, and meticulous reporting. CJ support and a company vehicle are included as part of the package.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience as a Fire Alarm Engineer or similar role.
  • Strong practical knowledge of fire alarm maintenance and fault-finding.
  • Good understanding of BS 5839 and fire safety regulations.
  • Full UK driving licence; willingness to travel to customer sites.
  • FIA qualifications and/or ECS Card advantageous.
  • Experience with Protec fire alarm systems beneficial but not essential.

Responsibilities

  • Maintenance and fault-finding of fire alarm systems in line with industry standards and regulations.
  • Carry out planned servicing and maintenance of fire alarms.
  • Diagnose faults, undertake repairs and ensure systems remain operational and compliant.
  • Complete clear and accurate service reports and records.
  • Provide professional technical support to customers while maintaining high standards of health and safety.

Fire Alarm Engineer Job Overview

We are looking for an experienced Fire Alarm Engineer to join a permanent, full-time team working across a range of customer sites.

This is a varied engineering position covering the maintenance and fault-finding of fire alarm systems.

Ideal Candidate

The ideal candidate will be an experienced Fire Alarm Engineer with strong technical knowledge and the confidence to manage maintenance and fault-finding work.

You'll be logical and methodical in your approach, with excellent attention to detail and the ability to diagnose and resolve faults effectively. A professional attitude and strong communication skills are important, as you'll be working directly with customers and representing the business on-site.

Fire Alarm Engineer Key Responsibilities
  • Maintenance and fault-finding of fire alarm systems in line with relevant industry standards and regulations.
  • Carry out planned servicing and maintenance of fire alarms.
  • Diagnose faults, undertake repairs and ensure systems remain operational and compliant.
  • Complete clear and accurate service reports, documentation and other required records.
  • Provide professional technical support to customers while maintaining high standards of health and safety.
Fire Alarm Engineer Requirements
  • Proven experience as a Fire Alarm Engineer, Fire Systems Technician, Electrical Engineer or in a similar role.
  • Strong practical knowledge of fire alarm maintenance and fault-finding.
  • Good understanding of relevant British Standards and fire safety regulations, with BS 5839 knowledge preferred.
  • Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail and the ability to work independently.
  • Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel to customer sites as required.
  • FIA qualifications and/or ECS Card would be advantageous.
  • Experience working with Protec fire alarm systems would be beneficial but is not essential.
