Job summary

A leading recruitment agency is seeking a Fire Alarm Engineer for a reputable client based in West Malling. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining and repairing fire alarm systems, ensuring compliance with relevant fire standards and legislation. This role requires excellent customer service skills and appropriate certifications including FIA training. A full driving licence is essential for this position.

Qualifications

• Experience with fire alarms is essential.
• Knowledge of health & safety standards including manual handling, asbestos, and first aid.
• Full driving licence required.

Monday - Friday, 45hrs per week - On Call 1 week in 5, Overtime Available

Fire Alarm Engineer’s Core Duties

• Maintaining, finding faults and rectifying fire alarms
• Preparing relevant documentation in line with issues and solutions
• Work on a variety of alarm systems, from hardwired, wireless to hybrid
• Support with fire alarm servicing and installations
• Be on-call (1 week in 5) and attend call outs as necessary

Fire Alarm Engineer’s Experience Required

• Knowledge of fire standards and legislation
• Experience with Fire Alarms
• FIA training - Foundation minimum
• Health & Safety certification - manual handling, asbestos, working at heights, first aid
• 18th Edition - IEE Wiring Regulations
• ECS card
• Full driving licence
• Initiative and motivated
• Professional and presentable with great customer service skills
• Satisfactory references and a DBS check

Fire Alarm Engineer’s Desirable Skills

• Good knowledge of ISO 9000, BS5839 & BAFE
• Experience with wireless systems (EMS)
• Experience with Gent
• Experience with installation and commissioning
• FIA FD&A Advanced Installer and FD&A Advanced Maintainer
