Job summary

V7 Recruitment Ltd is seeking a Fire Alarm Designer/Estimator to join the Minor Projects team in an Essex office-based role. You will take projects up to £500k from tender through handover, with site visits as needed.

You will design and estimate fire alarm installations, upgrades and maintenance, interpret drawings and specs, and use AutoCAD and estimating software. FIA/BS 5839 Level 3 qualification is preferred.

Qualifications

• Experience in fire alarm design and estimating with FIA, Zuess, Level 3 or BS 5839 equivalent.
• Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specs.
• Proficient with AutoCAD or similar design software.
• Understanding of commercial estimating principles.
• Experience using estimating software and CRM systems.
• Knowledge of Gent, Notifier, Siemens, Advanced, C-Tec, Hochiki, Morley, Apollo or similar systems.

Responsibilities

• Review tender drawings, specifications and project documentation.
• Prepare detailed quotations for fire alarm installations, upgrades and maintenance projects.
• Producing design drawings, schematics, cause and effect matrices and equipment schedules.
• Attend pre-tender and site survey meetings where required.

Fire AlarmEstimator & Designer

Location: Essex (Office based)

Are you a Fire Alarm Designer and/or Estimator looking for your next opportunity?

We’re looking for a knowledgeable and motivated Fire Alarm Designer / Estimator to join the our clients Minor Projects team. This is a varied role where you’ll play an important part in taking projects up to £500k from the initial tender stage through to successful handover.

What You’ll Be Doing

• Reviewing tender drawings, specifications and project documentation.
• Preparing detailed and accurate quotations for fire alarm installations, upgrades and maintenance projects.
• Producing design drawings, schematics, cause and effect matrices and equipment schedules.
• Attending pre-tender and site survey meetings where required.

Essential Experience & Qualifications

• Experience in fire alarm system design and estimating, with FIA, Zuess, Level 3 or equivalent qualification in fire alarm design to BS 5839.
• Ability to confidently interpret construction drawings and specifications.
• Experience using AutoCAD or similar design software.
• Good understanding of commercial estimating principles.
• Experience using estimating software and CRM systems.
• Knowledge of Gent, Notifier, Siemens, Advanced, C-Tec, Hochiki, Morley, Apollo or similar fire alarm systems.

Please note there isn't a company car or car allowance on offer as this is an office based role. We are looking for a candidate who is happy to commute to Essex on a daily basis. Any site visits will be expensed, and attended to via train as they are all in Central London.
