Job summary

Total Integrated Solutions Ltd is expanding its Fire Commissioning team and seeks a motivated multi-skilled engineer. You will commission Fire Alarm/Detection Systems across client sites, ensuring compliance with BS standards, and travel within the designated area.

Working independently or with the project team, you will develop your career, complete documentation accurately, and uphold safety standards. Experience with Gent products and large networked systems is highly valued, as are a full UK

Qualifications

• BS5839, BS7273 and BS6266 knowledge
• FIA Level 3 Advanced Commissioning Engineer
• RRFSO and Building Regulations understanding
• Experience in commissioning Fire Alarm/Detection Systems
• Experience on addressable, non-addressable and Part 6 systems
• Gent products experience essential
• Experience on large networked systems
• Commitment to safety and British Standards
• Knowledge of fire systems cause and effect
• Warden Call, Nurse Call, Door Entry and Access Control advantageous
• ECS Card credential

Responsibilities

• Commissioning of Fire Alarm/Detection Systems including networking
• Ensure systems installed to correct standards
• Assist project team to complete within time frame and budget
• Add additional devices to systems
• Assist commissioning of other systems when requested
• Complete commissioning tasks efficiently and on time
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of Standards/Regulations
• Travel to client sites within designated area
• Attend service/maintenance sites when commissioning not available
• Ensure client satisfaction before leaving site
• Accurate completion of documentation

Job description

The Company are looking to expand its Fire Commissioning team due to their continued success and are seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated multi-skilled engineer. This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to develop their career and become a valued member of the commissioning team. You should be positive and enthusiastic having the ability to meet the client’s requirements and the capability to work independently or within a team when required.

The role involves:

• Commissioning of small and large Fire Alarm/Detection Systems including networking
• Ensuring systems are installed to the correct standards
• Assisting the project team get the completed project completed within the time frame and budget
• Adding additional devices to the systems
• Assisting in the commissioning of other systems when requested
• Ensuring all commissioning tasks are completed efficiently, accurately and within timescales
• Maintaining a high level of technical knowledge and keeping up-to-date with Standards and Regulations
• Travel to various client locations within designated area
• Attending service or maintenance sites when commissioning work isn’t available/ongoing
• Ensure that the client is satisfied with the servicing/commissioning of the system prior to leaving site
• Accurate completion of documentation

Key experience / Qualifications:

• Working knowledge of all British Standards relevant to Fire Alarm Systems such as BS5839, BS7273 and BS6266
• FIA Level 3 Advanced Commissioning Engineer
• Understanding of statutory legislation including RRFSO, Building Regulation/Approved Documents etc
• Experience in Commissioning Fire Alarm/Detection Systems
• Experience on both addressable, non-addressable and Part 6 systems
• Experience with Gent products is essential
• Experience on large networked systems
• A commitment to safety and adhering to the British Standards
• A working knowledge of fire systems cause and effect
• Experience of Warden Call, Nurse Call, Door Entry and Access Control is a distinct advantage
• ECS Card
