Job summary

Ser- in Nottingham is seeking an experienced Fire Alarm Commissioning Engineer to commission, test and hand over a wide range of fire alarm systems across commercial properties in the East Midlands. You will work with project teams, contractors and customers to ensure systems are installed, programmed and operating to current standards.

The role is field-based with door-to-door travel, a company vehicle and regular overtime.

Qualifications

• Experience commissioning fire alarm systems.
• Strong knowledge of fire alarm installation, testing and programming.
• Full UK Driving Licence.
• FIA qualifications desirable but not essential.

Responsibilities

• Commission and test fire alarm systems to the highest standards.
• Carry out system programming, fault-finding and diagnostics.
• Complete cause-and-effect testing and system verification.
• Attend site meetings and liaise with customers, contractors and project teams.
• Ensure systems are compliant with relevant British Standards and regulations.
• Complete commissioning certificates, reports and handover documentation.
• Provide technical support and guidance where required.
• Participate in the on-call rota and undertake overtime when required.

The Role

As a Fire Alarm Commissioning Engineer, you will be responsible for the commissioning, testing and handover of a wide range of fire alarm systems across commercial properties throughout the East Midlands.

Working closely with project teams, contractors and customers, you will ensure all systems are installed, programmed and operating correctly in line with current standards and client requirements.

This is a field-based role offering door-to-door travel, a company vehicle and excellent overtime opportunities. You'll have the opportunity to work on a variety of projects while being supported by an experienced engineering and operations team.

You'll also have:

• Previous experience commissioning fire alarm systems.
• Strong knowledge of fire alarm installation, testing and programming.
• Excellent fault-finding and diagnostic skills.
• A full UK Driving Licence.
• FIA qualifications (desirable but not essential).
• The ability to work independently with excellent communication and organisational skills.
• A proactive approach with a strong focus on quality and customer satisfaction.
