Job summary

EY Fintech Lab is seeking an experienced engineer to shape and evolve our AI-enabled technology stack in London. You will rapidly prototype solutions, research emerging tools and present recommendations to senior stakeholders, helping clients understand, test and adopt new technologies with confidence.

You will work with a multidisciplinary Lab team to deliver practical, scalable AI-driven capabilities, driving value for financial services clients and startups through robust engineering

Qualifications

• 4+ years of experience in software engineering and/or technology consulting.
• Experience in at least two modern programming languages such as TypeScript, Python, Java or Go.
• Proven ability to architect, build and deploy complex agentic systems, including agent-to-agent communication.
• Ability to build auditable agentic systems that can be traced and observed.
• Expertise in developing APIs and microservices.
• Good understanding of frontend technologies such as React and Next.js.
• Experience managing at least one cloud platform, such as Azure, AWS or GCP.
• Experience working with AI development frameworks such as LangChain, foundation model platforms, vector databases, structured outputs, tracing and evaluation techniques
• Experience applying modern engineering practices, including testing, CI/CD, DevOps, observability, secure development, code quality, architecture reviews and production-readiness
• Experience designing monitoring approaches, dashboards or evaluation mechanisms to understand the performance and behaviour of AI-enabled systems
• Strong communication skills to articulate complex technical solutions

Responsibilities

• Challenge traditional delivery methods and automate software building.
• Define and maintain engineering standards for quality, security, testing and production-readiness.
• Identify high-value opportunities with clients and internal stakeholders.
• Architect AI-enabled solutions connecting data, tools and user intent.
• Create intuitive interfaces and human-in-the-loop workflows for supervising AI processes.
• Share reusable patterns and best practices across EY.
• Manage multiple workstreams with clear planning, prioritisation and communication.
