Job summary

MCC Label Nantgarw is seeking a Finishing Operator to support our print production area. The role covers set-up of die-cutting/slitting machines, operation of finishing lines, and rigorous quality inspections to ensure products meet customer packaging specifications.

The successful candidate will work a full-time 40-hour week with rotating Sunday to Friday shifts, including days, afternoons, and nights, and will receive a basic salary plus shift allowance.

Responsibilities

• Set up slitting and inspection machines to feed finished reels into finishing.
• Operate die-cutting or slitting machines to meet size and packaging specs.
• Perform quality inspections and sign-off finished goods to QA standards.
• Escalate quality concerns following established procedures.
• Adhere to company quality and health & safety processes at all times.
• Maintain rewinding equipment per preventative maintenance schedules.
• Document work accurately and ensure correct waste disposal.

Job Title: Finishing Operator
Location: Nantgarw CF15 7QU

Team overview:

Our print production area is made up of smaller teams focussing on specific parts of the label printing process: our Finishers are responsible for all aspects of die-cutting / slitting, quality inspection and final presentation of product to customer packaging specifications. This is a key operations role within MCC Label - Finishers have inspection sign-off responsibilities ensuring that customer orders are fulfilled to exacting quality standards.

Responsibilities:

• Ensure the accurate and timely set up of slitting and inspection machines so that materials exiting press enter the finishing process to meet deadlines.
• Operate the required die-cutting or slitting machines so that printed master reels are finished to customer size and packaging requirements.
• Undertake all aspects of quality inspection as per established and documented procedures, including visual inspection for defects and sign off on finished goods to Certificate of Analysis standards.
• Ensure that any quality concerns are raised promptly and professionally to established management procedures.
• Follow company quality assured processes at all times.
• Follow health and safety processes at all times.
• Complete all documentation accurately and to deadlines, taking responsibility for quality compliance to company standards.
• Effectively maintain rewinding equipment by following preventative maintenance schedules.
• Ensure that all waste is secured for prompt and correct disposal in the compactor or designated waste areas.

Previous experience of label processing is not necessary however the ideal candidate will have experience of machine operating within a manufacturing facility.
