Job summary

Spirax-Sarco Engineering in Swindon is seeking a motivated Finishing Operator to join the production team. You will clean, finish, and package components, ensuring quality before customer delivery, while supporting continuous improvement and maintaining safety standards.

Finishing Operator

We are looking for a motivated and detail-oriented Finishing Operator to join our production team. This role plays a key part in ensuring finished components are cleaned, processed, and packaged to the highest quality standards before reaching our customers.

Working within a fast-paced manufacturing environment, you will be responsible for operating cleaning equipment, carrying out finishing activities, and supporting continuous improvement initiatives while maintaining a strong focus on quality, safety, and teamwork.

Key Responsibilities
  • Operate cleaning and washing machines.
  • Clean, wash, deburr, and package components in accordance with established procedures.
  • Ensure high standards of product quality at all times.
  • Work to standard operating procedures (SOPs), production targets, and workplace organisation standards.
  • Carry out front-line operator asset care and support machine maintenance activities.
  • Follow all Environmental, Health and Safety (EHS) requirements and contribute to safety improvements.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives and projects.
  • Work flexibly across the department and undertake additional duties as required.
  • Take ownership of personal development and learning opportunities.

  • Experience using wash machines, deburring, or finishing equipment.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.
  • Problem-solving skills and experience supporting others through training.
  • Basic to intermediate Excel skills.
