Job summary

Compass Group UK&I is seeking a dedicated Sous Chef for our Canary Wharf operation. In a hands-on, weekday-based role, you will assist the Head Chef, deliver fine-dining quality dishes and help run bespoke events and private dining experiences.

You will lead by example, train and motivate the kitchen team, and contribute to budgeting, food costs, and HACCP compliance in a dynamic, premium hospitality environment.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in fine-dining or premium hospitality environments.
• Strong cooking skills across all kitchen sections.
• Ability to train, motivate and lead kitchen staff.
• Strong organisational, time-management and problem-solving abilities.
• Understanding of food costs, GP, and HACCP and industry best practices.

Sous Chef, Canary Wharf!

Join our culinary team as a Sous Chef, working with the Head Chef to deliver refined cuisine and exceptional guest experiences.

In this hands-on role, you will be an integral part of a close-knit and professional kitchen brigade, supporting the day-to-day operation of the restaurant as well as bespoke events and private dining occasions. The position demands strong technical culinary expertise, meticulous attention to detail, and a passion for excellence. You will play a key role in maintaining the highest standards of food quality, service, and kitchen operations, while contributing to the leadership, development, and motivation of the team within a dynamic fine dining environment.

Monday to Friday role operating on a shift-based rota, covering breakfast and lunch services throughout the week and dinner service Monday to Thursday, with shift times subject to business demand.

What you’ll be doing:
