Role Purpose:
The Finance Transactions Officer is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the finance transactions team, ensuring the accurate and efficient processing of financial activities across accounts receivable, accounts payable, and banking functions. The Finance Transactions Officer also ensures compliance with internal policies, supports cross-functional collaboration—particularly with customer-facing and supply chain teams—and delivers accurate internal reporting and balance sheet reconciliations to support informed decision-making.
Key Responsibilities and Required Experience:
This role plays a key part in maintaining financial integrity through effective debt management, timely supplier payments, and robust reconciliation processes.
Role will join Financial Control team (total team size of 6 perm staff and 3 temp) and will be part of a wider Finance team, with a total of 17 perm/temp staff. Supervisory responsibility for 1-2 individuals, initially although will potentially increase as the organisation scales up.
- Management of accounts receivable function, including raising of invoices when needed and debt management in alignment with customer facing teams
- Produce quality, relevant internal reporting
- Management of accounts payable function, ensuring efficient and accurate processing and exception resolution by the AP Administrator(s)
- Travel & subsistence expenses management
- Produce quality, relevant internal reporting
- Oversee month-end closing activities on relevant balance sheet accounts by ensuring all receivable, payable and banking transactions are recorded and reconciled
- Oversee daily bank reconciliation process
- Produce quality, relevant internal reporting
- Build and maintain an efficient and effective relationship with the Procurement & Supply Chain team
- Handle internal and external queries related to invoices, payments, and account discrepancies in a timely and professional manner, including escalations from the accounts payable clerks
- Identify and suggest improvements to enhance the efficiency and accuracy of the accounts payable process
Mandatory Experience, Training Or/and Qualifications
- Extensive experience in management of accounts receivable and accounts payable ledgers and teams
- Strong relationship building and organisational skills
- Strong “firm but fair” personality/approach to ensure company policies and procedures are adhered to by internal and external stakeholders
- Strong Microsoft Excel skills
Beneficial Experience, Training Or/and Qualifications
Experience with SAP preferred, specifically SAP Ariba and SAP S/4 HANA

Pay And Benefits
We anticipate paying a salary of between £40,000 - £52,500 DOE plus:-
- Bonus - Performance related target opportunity 12.5%
- Benefits Allowance – £2,200 per annum, enabling you to create a bespoke package
- Pension - 12% employer and 6% employee contributions.
- Holidays - 28 days holiday (+ public holidays) and the ability to buy or sell up to 4 days.

- Life Assurance - 6x pensionable pay
