Job summary

Michael Page is supporting a housing organisation in Hertfordshire, delivering a 12-month fixed-term contract for a Systems Accountant. The role leads finance systems optimisation, data flow mapping and GL integrity, with a strong focus on Power BI reporting and collaboration with IT.

We're supporting a housing organisation through a period of systems transformation. This Systems Accountant will help integrate finance, IT and reporting systems following a merger.

Client Details

A leading housing organisation undergoing a significant period of systems transformation and integration.

Description

Lead the review and optimisation of finance systems and associated interfaces.

Support the integration of finance and operational systems following a recent merger.

Develop a clear understanding of how data flows across the organisation's systems landscape.

Ensure the integrity and effectiveness of General Ledger structures and system integrations.

Build and enhance reporting capability through Power BI and other management reporting tools.

Work closely with Finance and IT teams to resolve systems issues and improve processes.

Review data quality, controls and reconciliation processes across multiple systems.

Support users with system enhancements, testing and process improvements.

Act as the key link between finance, systems and technology teams.

Identify opportunities to automate reporting and streamline financial processes.

Provide documentation, training and knowledge transfer to ensure long-term sustainability.

Profile

We are looking for an accountant with strong systems expertise and a passion for using technology to improve financial processes.

You will ideally have:

• A recognised accountancy qualification (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent).
• Previous experience in a Systems Accountant or Finance Systems role.
• Strong understanding of financial systems, General Ledger structures and systems integrations.
• Experience developing reporting solutions using Power BI.
• Proven ability to analyse, manipulate and interpret complex data.
• Experience working closely with IT teams and non-finance stakeholders.
• Systems implementation, integration or merger experience would be highly advantageous.
• Excellent problem-solving and project management skills.
• Strong communication skills with the ability to translate technical concepts for non-technical audiences.
