Interim Financial Strategy Manager (3-6 months, hybrid working with 1 day on-site in London)

About the client

Morgan Law is seeking an interim Financial Strategy Manager for a Local Authority in the London area.

Responsibilities
  1. Lead the production of the medium-term financial plan, including financial modelling, resourcing forecasts, and developing robust planning assumptions.
  2. Report and advise on the outcomes of the medium-term financial planning process to provide decision-makers and finance colleagues with a clear outlook.
  3. Support the Head of Corporate Finance by contributing to business strategy development, performance review, and maintaining relationships with Service Areas and External Agencies.
  4. Provide professional leadership within the Finance Service, staying informed about relevant legislation, standards, and best practices.
  5. Promote a culture supporting a Self Service approach to service delivery.
Experience
  1. Extensive financial management experience in large, complex organizations.
  2. Extensive experience in financial modelling.
  3. Project management and delivery experience across multifunctional teams.
  4. Experience in process review and improvement.
  5. Proven ability to influence and negotiate with senior stakeholders.
  6. Understanding of local authority legislative framework related to financial planning and resourcing.
  7. CCAB / CIMA qualification or significant senior-level experience in finance within a large organization.
