Job description

Director - Financial Services - Identity and Access Management

The role will be working in the UK Cyber Security practice within our Technology and Data service line in Advisory. Our clients are increasingly under cyber-attack and regulatory scrutiny to demonstrate effective management of cyber risk. Our specialists provide independent, jargon free advice and advanced technical capabilities to help our clients proactively manage cyber and technology risks to drive value from their business information assets whilst protecting business.

Our cyber security services are defined within three capability groups:

  1. Cyber Risk, Resilience and Privacy
  2. Identity and access management (IAM) and cloud security
  3. Cyber Threat Management

We provide cyber security services to clients across three coverage groups:

  1. Financial Services
  2. Sectors
  3. Infrastructure, Government and Health

This is a Director role to lead our go-to-market approach for IAM services within the Financial Services (FS) sector. A key emphasis of the role will be on originating and leading the delivery of IAM engagements to clients and contributing to the leadership of our IAM capability.

The Director role will be responsible for the following areas:

  • Lead the enhancement and development of an IAM strategy for the FS sector by working in collaboration with the leadership of the FS cyber security business, IAM capability and our alliance partners. This will include defining the vision, objectives and plan and oversee the implementation of this.
  • Working collaboratively with the IAM leadership, develop and maintain new IAM propositions (including Powered Identity and managed services) and methodologies to drive and meet market demand and clients' issues. This will primarily be focused on the FS market and will consider the requirements for other coverage groups so this can be leveraged across the UK Cyber Security practice. Ensure that all assets are maintained in the format required by Powered where appropriate and align business development activities with the Powered sales teams.
  • Grow our current footprint to meet market demand and clients' issues whilst exploiting the adjacencies across our current engagements.
  • Build relationships with other parts of the firm (IAM leads in other Cyber Security coverage groups and Technology Risk) to bind offerings together.
  • Lead our relationships with IAM alliance partners (SailPoint, CyberArk, Okta, etc.) to drive collaboration and sales opportunities.
  • Work collaboratively with the IAM capability leadership on the people management of the IAM business to enable the strategy to be successful.
  • Connect and enable our business transformation work with IAM and shape the future of IAM though innovative services and tools.
  • Originate and lead on sales opportunities.
  • Develop relationships internally and externally and build a pipeline of opportunities and/or sell engagements to clients.
  • Lead the delivery of security engagements.
  • Define the people requirements (skills, experience, etc.) to strengthen our team of cyber security resources and lead the recruitment of these resources.

Reporting to the Lead Cyber Security Partner for FS, the Director role involves:

  • Taking accountability for the delivery of FS IAM engagements and leading multiple engagements on a day-to-day basis with the assistance of Senior Managers/Managers in the team.
  • Being responsible for expanding our IAM services in the FS sector.
  • Providing leadership and collaborating with people across the coverage groups on the IAM service line to deliver a clear and unified strategy.
  • Leading FS sales origination/business development initiatives and acting as an integral part of the broader Technology and Cyber Security leadership team.
  • Contributing to the overall FS cyber security strategy by identifying opportunities for growth and developing strategies to capitalize on cyber security risk opportunities in this sector.
  • Building and managing excellent networks and client relationships (typically at CIO, CRO, COO, CISO, or Head of Technology level) across a range of FS organizations.
  • Actively identifying and progressing FS business development opportunities, responding to RFPs, managing bids, writing proposals, and delivering client presentations.
  • Developing internal networks and maintaining excellent relationships with colleagues across KPMG.
  • Coaching and developing team members as part of our overall performance management or on specific engagements.
  • Contributing to practice management training, knowledge sharing, and thought leadership.
  • Traveling within the UK to regional offices and attending Canary Wharf offices regularly; supporting client delivery where required.
  • Acting in line with KPMG's values at all times.
  • The person

    • Experience working in the Financial Services sector, including with large, global organizations.
    • Experience as an IAM Lead and Consultant at a senior level.
    • Commercial awareness and industry relationships that enable achievement of revenue in the region of £ million per year.
    • Wide industry exposure with deep technical knowledge and experience in IAM.
    • Knowledge of regulatory environments facing FS clients, especially regarding technology, cybersecurity, and privacy regulations.
    • Proven success in leading, managing, and delivering cybersecurity and technology advisory and assurance services to large/medium, multinational clients.
    • Proven experience delivering IAM advice.
