Job summary

Elevation Recruitment Group are recruiting an experienced Financial Reporting Senior Manager to join a well-established organisation in Sheffield on an initial 6-month fixed term contract.

This role focuses on external reporting, statutory accounts, and the management of the external audit, IFRS compliance and complex financial reporting within a Group structure. The successful candidate will lead statutory statements, liaise with auditors, and ensure robust controls.

Qualifications

• ACA/ACCA/CIMA qualified with significant post-qualification experience.
• Strong technical accounting and financial reporting background.
• Current knowledge and practical application of IFRS.
• Experience producing statutory and/or consolidated financial statements.
• Experience managing external audits and responding to audit queries.
• Strong understanding of financial controls, reconciliations and reporting processes.
• Experience with IFRS 9 and financial assets/liabilities would be advantageous.
• Experience in financial services or similarly complex reporting environments would be beneficial.
• Strong analytical skills with attention to detail.
• Excellent communication of complex accounting matters to finance and non-finance stakeholders.
• Able to work independently and prioritise technical reporting requirements.

Responsibilities

• Lead the preparation of statutory and interim financial statements across a Group structure and its subsidiary companies.
• Provide technical accounting expertise on IFRS and wider financial reporting matters.
• Ensure financial reporting is accurate, compliant and supported by clear audit trails and appropriate documentation.
• Support the correct accounting treatment and classification of financial assets and liabilities, including IFRS 9.
• Maintain and reconcile investment and loan records, ensuring underlying financial information is accurate and complete.
• Manage and coordinate the external audit process, acting as a key point of contact for auditors.
• Support effective financial controls and governance across the reporting process.
• Review and resolve complex accounting matters, ensuring conclusions are appropriately documented.
• Work collaboratively with wider finance teams and stakeholders to deliver high-quality financial reporting.

Salary: £55,000+ depending on experience

Hours: Full time, 37.5 hours per week

This is a technically focused financial reporting position with responsibility for external reporting, statutory accounts, technical accounting and the management of the external audit process.

About You

• Strong analytical skills with excellent attention to detail.
• Confident communicating complex accounting matters clearly to finance and non-finance stakeholders.
• Able to work independently, manage competing priorities and take ownership of technical reporting requirements.
