Organisational Context
The British Tourist Authority (BTA) is the national tourism agency, a non-departmental public body funded by the Department for Culture, Media & Sport (DCMS), operating under the name VisitBritain/VisitEngland (VB/VE).
We are a global organisation with over 280 employees across 16 countries, dedicated to driving a thriving tourism industry and creating economic prosperity across Britain.
VisitBritain, as the official tourist board for England, Scotland, and Wales, markets Great Britain worldwide to prospective travelers. VisitEngland (VE) supports English tourism through business growth initiatives, statutory research, insights, and engagement activities via events and communications.
VB/VE also develops England’s tourism product, enhances Britain’s international profile, increases tourism exports, and develops the visitor economy.
Serving as the national tourism board, VisitBritain aims to boost overseas visits and spending in the UK.
Our values—Passion, Partnership, and Pace—guide us in delivering excellent results, working collaboratively, and innovating boldly.
Our principle is “Locate for your Day,” allowing staff to choose their work location based on business needs, primarily remote work with some office presence. Our Global Hub is located at Victoria Square House, Birmingham, with a small presence in Central London. Employees are expected to commute to Birmingham at their own cost, with travel expenses reimbursed when necessary.
We seek an experienced, detail-oriented finance professional to lead our year-end accounting close and ensure accurate statutory accounts compliance. You will manage the preparation and submission of BTA’s CLoS returns and statutory reports to DCMS, coordinate external audits with the NAO, and oversee fiscal operations across international jurisdictions to ensure compliance.
