Base pay range
An exceptional opportunity has arisen for a Financial Reporting and Systems Accountant to join a renowned global property group on an initial 12-month contract, with the potential to become permanent. This role is based in London, offering a flexible hybrid working arrangement of three days in the office and two days from home. You will be instrumental in ensuring best practice financial accounting processes, delivering timely and accurate internal and external reporting.
What you'll do:
As a Financial Reporting and Systems Accountant, you will immerse yourself in a diverse range of responsibilities that are central to the financial integrity of this global propertygroup. Your day-to-day activities will involve managing critical elements of the external audit process alongside senior finance leaders, preparing complex consolidations for group entities, designing insightful management reports that drive business decisions, and developing robust financial controls. You will also play an active role in systems implementation projects aimed at digitising workflows for greater efficiency. Your ability to provide clear technical accounting advice will be essential as you navigate evolving standards and support compliance initiatives. By collaborating closely with colleagues across finance, operations, tax, and other functions, you will help shape best practices while contributing positively to a culture built on teamwork, flexibility, and continuous improvement.
- Coordinate closely with the Financial Controller EMEA to manage all aspects of the Group's external audit process, ensuring seamless workflows and prompt responses to auditor requests.
- Lead impairment testing of fixed assets by collaborating with Operations Finance, CFO, and Revenue Director to ensure accuracy and compliance.
- Prepare detailed consolidations and statutory accounts for both group-level and subsidiary entities in accordance with UK GAAP/IFRS standards.
- Design and deliver monthly Group management reports covering balance sheets, cashflow statements, and working capital analysis to inform strategic decision-making.
- Drive adherence to reporting timelines while supporting efficient month-end close processes across multiple business units.
- Develop comprehensive Group policies around financial processes and controls, ensuring consistent application by all finance teams.
- Provide clear technical accounting guidance on complex matters, including drafting technical papers on changes to accounting standards or new requirements.
- Work collaboratively with internal tax teams to deliver compliance projects such as transfer pricing documentation and corporate restructuring initiatives.
- Review leasing structures in partnership with tax specialists to assess implications under IFRS 16 and optimise tax outcomes.
- Lead ad-hoc finance projects that require cross-functional teamwork with various departments throughout the business.
