Job description

What if your next finance role was less about producing reports and more about understanding what they're really telling you?

We're looking for a Financial Reporting Analyst to join a successful market-leading business based in North Bristol. This is a great opportunity for someone with a solid finance background, a naturally analytical mind, and a genuine interest in using data to solve problems, improve reporting and help the finance team make better decisions when managing their bank balance. You won't simply be pulling numbers from a system and sending them on. You'll be asking why the numbers look the way they do, spotting trends and anomalies, improving how information is produced, and turning financial data into something people can actually use.

The role sits at the heart of the business, and accurate, insightful reporting is critical. You'll work closely with Finance, Treasury and other stakeholders to deliver high-quality reporting and analysis across the function.

Your day could involve:

  • Producing and analysing regular treasury and financial reports.
  • Investigating variances, trends and unusual movements in data.
  • Improving existing reporting processes and identifying opportunities to automate them.
  • Working with large and sometimes complex datasets to uncover meaningful insights.
  • Developing dashboards, MI and analysis that help stakeholders understand performance.
  • Supporting cash, liquidity and treasury-related analysis.
  • Building strong relationships with colleagues across Finance and the wider business.
  • Challenging existing processes and asking, "Is there a better way of doing this?"
  • Using your technical skills to make reporting faster, smarter and more reliable.

You'll need previous finance experience and strong analytical ability. You don't necessarily need to have spent your entire career in finance what matters is that you're comfortable working with financial information and enjoy getting underneath the numbers. We're particularly interested in people who have experience with at least one of the following: VBA, SQL, SAS

Excellent attention to detail without losing sight of the bigger picture is required as is the ability to investigate a problem, understand the data and explain your findings clearly.

You'll bring a curious, improvement-focused mindset, the confidence to work with, stakeholders and be able to challenge information when something doesn't look right.

If you're the sort of person who sees a spreadsheet and immediately starts wondering how it could be made better, faster or more insightful, we'd like to hear from you. So if you're an analytical finance professional with experience in VBA, SQL or SAS and you're ready for a role where your analysis can genuinely make a difference.

This role requires 2 days a week in the office, free parking and comes with a 10% bonus on top of salary.
