Job summary

Grant Thornton (UK) is seeking a Financial Reporting Advisor Assistant Manager to provide specialist accounting guidance to clients. The role focuses on high-quality reporting, technical accounting projects, and supporting the firm’s commercial objectives.

You will lead engagements, coach junior staff, manage budgets and deadlines, and identify opportunities for additional work while maintaining strong client relations across London and Reading.

Qualifications

• Professional qualification with post-qualification experience.
• Experience in large audit client portfolios and strong knowledge of IFRS, UK GAAP and, optionally, US GAAP and Companies Act.
• Leadership and project-management experience, including coaching and mentoring junior colleagues.
• Proven ability to build and develop client relationships.

Responsibilities

• Deliver projects focused on technical accounting, including GAAP conversions, financial statements, M&A activity, standard implementations, group restructurings and training.
• Manage projects independently or with team members, controlling timescales, budgets and risk management, ensuring deadlines and high client service.
• Lead smaller assignments and take responsibility for planning, completion and review.
• Identify new opportunities, prepare scope, and provide quotes for small pieces of work.
