Job Description:

About us

Metroline Manchester is a recently formed subsidiary of ComfortDelGro, established in March 2024. We operate four franchises and are part of the Bee Network in Greater Manchester, awarded by the Greater Manchester Combined Authority (GMCA). Metroline, founded in 1989, is the fourth largest bus operator in London, operating about 17% of the city's scheduled bus services. Since 2000, it has been part of Comfort Del Gro, a major private land transport company operating in 12 countries with a fleet of over 40,000 vehicles and more than 22,000 colleagues.

The role will also lead the forecasting and budgeting process, adapting processes from London to fit the Manchester operations. Working with finance business partners, the FP&A manager will develop a detailed bottom-up approach to forecasting and budgeting all aspects of the franchise operation.

Responsibilities

  • Establish and lead reforecasting and budgeting processes.
  • Create and operate forecasting models for key components such as driver costs, engineering headcount, and routine maintenance using a bottom-up methodology.
  • Produce monthly management accounts and depot packs, analyzing variances.
  • Develop company reporting including financial and non-financial metrics, explaining operational variances.
  • Drive continuous improvement in reporting and forecasting processes by identifying opportunities for standardization.

  • Experience in forecasting and reporting within a matrix structure, working with both finance and non-finance stakeholders.
  • Proficiency in IT systems, especially finance systems like Oracle or SAP, and MS Office suite.
  • Experience reporting under IFRS.
  • Strong Excel modeling skills, capable of building or modifying complex business models.
  • Oracle experience is desirable but not essential.
