Job Profile

Financial Planning and Analysis Manager

e.surv Chartered Surveyors is currently recruiting for an FP&A Manager to drive best-in-class performance reporting, forecasting, and market analysis. Do you have experience managing the entire planning cycle with high-level business partnering? Are you a strategic thinker skilled in modelling and forecasting?

This is a home-based role, with regular travel to the Head Office in Kettering on an ad hoc basis.

Accountabilities include:
Reporting
  • Design and deliver daily, weekly, monthly, and quarterly revenue performance reports, including KPIs and insights. Lead discussions on implications, next steps, and remediation.
  • Ensure visibility of operating costs, their drivers, and opportunities to variabilise, reduce, or exploit resources, particularly surveying resources.
  • Collaborate with finance analysts to develop and comment on relevant reports and KPIs.
  • Work with the Head of Finance Change, Technology, and MI to develop MI/BI solutions, including dynamic, self-serve reporting and dashboards.
Strategic Optimisation
  • Maintain awareness of external market trends and model their impact on business projections.
  • Deliver scenario planning for potential business strategies and market assumptions to support strategic planning.
  • Provide profit modelling for various business strategies, including organic growth, acquisitions, and market entry or exit.
Planning Cycle
  • Develop a robust, defensible profit plan aligned with business strategy, with a clear narrative.
  • Own the creation of the five-year business plan, annual budget, and ongoing forecasts, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
  • Present plans and forecasts visually with clear narratives and commentary.
Team & Group Liaison
  • Manage and develop one FP&A analyst, fostering confidence and effectiveness.
  • Promote continuous improvement through process automation and technological enhancements.
  • Build collaborative relationships with Group and divisional FP&A teams for effective planning and forecasting.
Essential Requirements:
  • Qualified Accountant (CIMA, ACCA, ACA) with FP&A or Commercial Finance experience.
  • Strong commercial acumen and strategic mindset, with the ability to influence business decisions.
  • Significant experience in creating and presenting robust plans, budgets, and forecasts.
  • Ability to visually communicate business performance and strategies compellingly.
  • Experience in financial modelling and scenario planning.
