Elliptic is seeking an ambitious and energetic FP&A (Financial Planning and Analysis) to join our high-impact Finance team during an exciting phase of growth for our Data and SaaS business. Reporting to the FP&A Lead, you'll play a central role in scaling the FP&A function and will be integral in surfacing key indicators and insights to inform business strategy and evaluate new investments.
In this rapidly scaling environment, you will support new growth initiatives, automation, and scaling objectives, gaining exposure to all parts of the business. You'll collaborate closely with the Business Intelligence and Operations teams and engage with leaders across the organization. We value candidates who are commercially minded and passionate about deriving insights from financial, management, and operational data to provide strong business partnering support.
This role offers a hybrid working environment, based in London, with the flexibility of choosing your work-from-home or office mix and a requirement to be in the office two days per month for team collaborations.
Key Responsibilities
What you will do:
Reporting & Analysis:
- Analyse financial results and surface operational KPIs to identify trends, opportunities and areas for improvement, offering actionable insights to support decision making
- Create leading indicator and operational dashboards through collaboration across the company and partnering with Business Intelligence and Operations
Business Planning:- Assist in the development, monitoring and management of the annual budget and periodic forecasts. Work closely with department leaders to ensure financial plans are aligned with overall business objectives
Financial Modelling and Forecasting:- Build, maintain and refine financial models to project company performance and evaluate new business opportunities. Conduct scenario analysis to identify potential risks and opportunities in business strategies
Scaling:- Support the implementation of a cloud-based FP&A tool
- Assist in the migration of existing data and integration of the new system
- Provide training and support to team members on the use of the new tool
- Continuously seek opportunities to enhance financial processes, improving data accuracy and operational efficiency
Finance Business Partnering:- Support Leadership Teams and Line Managers with metrics, strategy, product roadmap and resource planning, and evolving regional go to market strategies
- Assist with ad-hoc fundraising support, and shareholder information requests
- Ad hoc projects
This person will enjoy the satisfaction of ensuring everything is precisely in order via hands-on budgeting, forecasting and modelling work, while gaining excellent exposure to the full range of DaaS and SaaS business model functions.
Skills, Knowledge & ExpertiseRequirementsThe successful candidate will be a high-calibre applicant who consistently outperforms their peer-group, client and other stakeholder expectations.
As well as being energetic, trustworthy and dependable with exceptional attention to detail, the ideal candidate will always look to improve on accepted norms, and should possess the following traits:
- 2+ years part-qualified or newly-qualified accountancy qualification, or similar relevant financial analytical experience
- 2+ years FP&A experience advantageous but not essential (if newly qualified)
- Excellent academics
- Highly analytical mindset
- Strong skills in data manipulation and analysis using tools such as Excel, SQL, Python
- Experience with BI tools like QuickSight, Tableau, Power BI, or Looker for dashboard creation and data visualisation
- Demonstrable commercial or entrepreneurial acumen
- Driven and ambitious personality
- Excellent communication and team-working skills
- Adaptability to operate successfully in a fast-paced environment, delivering on multiple projects with tight deadlines, especially during key reporting periods
Bonus Points for:- Educational background in Business Analytics, Engineering, Maths, Statistics, or similar quantitative discipline preferred
- Direct experience working within a cloud based FP&A tool along with working with Hubspot and Xero
- Understanding of databases and data warehousing concepts to interact with the BI and Ops team effectively
- Tech sector and SaaS industry experience. Advantageous but not essential
- Scale-up experience
