Job summary

Aster Group is seeking an FP&A Manager to drive the long-term financial plan and scenario modelling, partnering with finance and operations to deliver robust insights. You will maintain planning models, produce regulatory submissions, and support governance with clear, senior-level reports.

The role is hybrid, with office days in Wareham twice monthly; expects collaboration with the Head of FP&A and Investor Relations, delivering data-driven recommendations for strategic decisions.

Qualifications

  • Qualified Accountant (ACA, ACCA or CIMA) with long-term planning and scenario modelling experience.
  • Strong consolidation and statutory accounts expertise.
  • Experience leading budgeting, forecasting and/or financial planning processes.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and maintain the Group’s annual financial plan and updates, ensuring outputs are accurate, robust and delivered to agreed timescales.
  • Coordinate collection and consolidation of financial planning information from across the Group.
  • Support the production of presentations and reports for Executive Team, Board and Committee meetings.
  • Prepare of the annual Financial Forecast Return (FFR) and other regulatory submissions, ensuring consistency with the approved business plan.
  • Develop and maintain financial models, supporting strategic planning, investment appraisal, funding requirements and business cases.
  • Produce detailed scenario analysis, stress testing and mitigation assessments to support strategic decision making and regulatory requirements.
  • Monitor and analyse relevant Group KPIs, identifying risks, opportunities and emerging trends.
  • Support the production of business plan outputs required for credit rating submissions and lender reporting.
  • Oversee the production and development of the Group’s monthly cash flow forecast.
  • Maintain and develop financial planning models used to analyse covenant compliance, financial capacity and development programme sustainability.
  • Support interest budget and forecasting processes through analysis of financial planning outputs and funding assumptions.
  • Produce reports and analysis for Treasury and Finance Committee meetings and other governance forums.
  • Support the Head of FP&A and Investor Relations in producing content for investors.
  • Leading on ad hoc financial analysis and modelling projects in support of corporate objectives.
  • Identify opportunities to improve financial processes, reporting automation and data accessibility through existing and emerging finance technologies.
  • Ensure high standards of data integrity, governance and auditability across all planning and forecasting processes.
  • Build effective relationships with stakeholders across Finance and the wider organisation to improve financial understanding and decision making.

Job description

Salary: £65,000 per annum

Location: Flexible - within commutable distance to Wareham

Hours: 37 hours per week

We’re looking for a FP&A Manager to play a key role in supporting the delivery of the Group’s long term financial plan. The role is responsible for producing high quality financial analysis and insights that enable effective decision making across the organisation.

Working closely with the Head of FP&A and Investor Relations, the FP&A Manager leads the preparation and maintenance of the Group’s long term financial plan and scenario modelling. The role ensures that robust financial information is available to support strategic initiatives, treasury activities, investment decisions and regulatory requirements.

The FP&A Manager acts as a trusted business partner to finance and operational stakeholders, driving financial discipline, improving reporting capabilities and supporting continuous improvement within the FP&A function.

What you’ll be doing
  • Preparing and maintaining the Group’s annual financial plan and subsequent updates, ensuring outputs are accurate, robust and delivered to agreed timescales.

About you

You will be a qualified Accountant (ACA, ACCA or CIMA) with experience in long term financial planning and scenario modelling. You will have:

  • Strong technical accounting expertise, including consolidation and statutory accounts.
  • Experience leading budgeting, forecasting and/or financial planning processes.
  • Excellent analytical skills, with the ability to translate complex financial information into clear actionable insight for senior stakeholders.
  • Strong stakeholder management skills, with confidence to influence senior leaders and build effective relationships.
  • A proactive and continuous improvement mindset, with the ability to lead change and deliver results in a fast-paced environment.

This is a hybrid role enabling you to work from home. The team do come together in the Wareham office twice per month, so being able and happy to travel for this is a must.
