Job Description

Join us as a Financial Planning Adviser.

  • This is an opportunity for a client-focused financial planning professional to take on a key role with significant exposure in Financial Planning at Coutts.
  • Provide specialist regulated, holistic financial planning advice to Coutts private banking clients.
  • Help clients manage their money effectively by providing them with the right information to make informed decisions about protecting what matters most.
  • Work from home part of the time, with at least three days a week in the office, and attend client meetings as necessary.
What you'll do

Ensure our clients’ financial needs are met with outstanding service, offering thorough advice on regulated financial planning products and services. Use your expertise to upskill advisers and enhance client experience and the effectiveness of our private banking and financial planning services.

Your responsibilities include:

  • Deliver regulated holistic financial planning products to private banking clients to support growth and profitability.
  • Build relationships with private banking stakeholders to promote core products and services.
  • Develop and maintain product documents and deliver training to teams and stakeholders.
  • Guide coverage teams on financial planning advice and products, including pensions, IHT planning, investment structuring, and protection, especially for complex deals.
  • Support end-to-end transactions, balancing client needs, commercial goals, and stakeholder demands, including analyzing complex transactions.
The skills you'll need

We seek someone with strong knowledge of regulated financial planning, ideally an experienced, authorized financial planner with at least 5 years of current advising experience. You should be Level 6 qualified with an active Statement of Professional Standing, advising on protection, investments, pensions, and estate planning.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are essential for building relationships with clients and stakeholders, including credit functions and banking communities.

Additionally, you should demonstrate:

  • Strong commercial acumen
  • Understanding of financial markets and key drivers of price volatility and investment products
  • Strategic thinking and the ability to simplify complex tasks and policies
  • Experience with policies, regulatory obligations, and risk management in private banking financial planning
