Job Description

We are currently seeking an experienced Qualified Actuary to join our Retail Finance team as a Financial Performance Manager for the Retail Protection business.

In this role, you will provide valuable support to the business and assist with the ongoing management and optimisation of financial results, including IFRS17. This will include ensuring that the performance of the Retail Protection business is continuously monitored against key metrics, that robust financial controls and procedures are observed, and that relevant Financial Performance MI is provided as required.

You will also disseminate complex financial information to a variety of stakeholders across the business (up to Director Level) in an effective and informative manner, ensuring that its presentation and analysis meet the wide background and experience of those stakeholders.

While this role sits within our Retail Protection team, previous experience of RP is not required, and we welcome applications from various backgrounds.

This is a hybrid working opportunity based from any of our UK Offices (London, Cardiff, or Hove), allowing you to work from both home and the office to find a work/life balance that suits you.

What you'll be doing:
  • Monitoring the ongoing financial performance of the Retail Protection business against key metrics
  • Leveraging financial insights/data to recommend management actions and challenge stakeholders on strategic and commercial decisions
  • Supporting the development of financial analytical capabilities within the team to understand and optimise key drivers of financial performance
  • Ensuring timely production and communication of financial results that meet all standards
  • Reporting relevant MI to the business as required
  • Ensuring financial controls and procedures are observed
  • Considering the fair treatment of customers in all activities
Qualifications

Who we're looking for:

  • A Fully Qualified Actuary
  • Experience in financial management/reporting, ideally within a Life office or consultancy, with understanding of metrics like Solvency II & IFRS17
  • Broad understanding of Protection products, reporting metrics, risks, and regulatory frameworks (highly advantageous)
  • Strong skills in Microsoft Excel, Prophet, and DCS
  • Excellent communication skills, capable of explaining technical results to non-technical audiences
  • Good influencing and stakeholder management skills
  • Flexible, able to multi-task and meet deadlines
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and within a team
Benefits

We offer a comprehensive package including performance bonuses, share schemes, pension, life assurance, healthcare, holidays, family leave, electric car scheme, discounts, and modern, wellbeing-focused offices.
