Job summary

WEX Europe Limited is seeking a Financial Operations Analyst to join the London Bridge team. The role combines accurate client funds reconciliation with daily funding validation across currencies, working closely with senior stakeholders in a fast-paced environment.

The ideal candidate has a finance degree, strong Excel skills, and a proactive, detail-oriented mindset. The position offers a hybrid pattern (1–2 days in the London Bridge office) with a competitive package and benefits.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

  • Daily execution of client funds reconciliation across currencies.
  • Perform daily funding validation and escalate issues promptly.
  • Verify critical financial data outputs and troubleshoot discrepancies.
  • Manage and review live deposits to ensure accurate fund allocation.
  • Serve as contact with financial issuer for queries.
  • Reconcile Mastercard settlement and interchange information.
  • Highlight and rectify negative customer balances with stakeholders.
  • Investigate historical differences in reconciliation spreadsheets.
  • Review customer funding for variances and report findings.
  • Suggest improvements to existing reconciliation processes.

WEX Europe Limited, also part of the WEX Inc organisation provides outsourced services to both OFL and OFEL, to enable the execution of their business activities as outlined.

Optal Financial Limited (OFL), a company registered in the UK and is authorised and regulated by the FCA as an Electronic Money Institution (EMI) and provide certain payment services. Optal Financial Europe Limited (OFEL) is a company registered in Ireland and is authorised and regulated by the Central Bank of Ireland (CBI) as an EMI and provide certain payments services. OFL and OFEL are principal members of Mastercard and Visa. OFEL and OFEL’s current core product/service is to issue as a regulated entity virtual account numbers or virtual cards (often called VANs or VCNs) which it provides to customers of its associated eNett business. OFL, OFEL, and eNett are part of the wider WEX Inc organisation, a US business to business solution provider headquartered in Portland, Maine. The current underlying customer base of eNett and therefore OFL & OFEL are online travel agencies (OTAs) who use VANs and VCNs to facilitate effective and efficient payments to their underlying suppliers via the Mastercard or Visa Payment Schemes.

We are looking for an enthusiastic Finance Analyst to work closely with senior stakeholders and other internal and external parties to ensure all reconciliations are performed accurately and in a timely manner across all currencies and entities. This is a fundamental analyst role within the finance department as part of the Financial Operations team, responsible for the Client Funds reconciliation and associated processes.

How you’ll make an impact
  • Daily execution of client funds reconciliation
  • Daily customer funding validation process, ensuring that any issues are escalated in a timely manner
  • Verification of critical financial data output and subsequent troubleshooting
  • Management and review of live platform deposits to ensure accurate fund allocation
  • Assist with and maintain effective working relationships with our financial issuer as a point of contact for finance-related queries
  • Reconciliation of Mastercard settlement and interchange information
  • Work with key stakeholders to ensure any negative customer balances are highlighted, rectified and escalated in a timely manner
  • Analyse, investigate and resolve historical difference within the reconciliation spreadsheet
  • Review customer funding as appropriate, highlighting any variances that occur
  • Evaluate and provide feedback on the existing processes

  • Flexibility to adapt to changing business environments, market conditions, and willingness to learn and stay updated with emerging practices in treasury management
  • Prior use of Netsuite useful
  • Proficiency in navigating and managing online banking platforms
  • Background of working with payments scheme providers (i.e. Mastercard and Visa)
