Job summary

Travel Counsellors is seeking a detail-focused P2P Operations Analyst to join our Head Office and deliver robust financial control across VCC reconciliations, supplier onboarding governance, compliance and master data management.

The role requires strong numerical, analytical and reconciliation skills and the ability to collaborate with international teams to protect the business from financial, fraud and compliance risk.

Qualifications

  • GCSE Maths and English or equivalent.
  • IT literate with strong Microsoft Office and Excel skills.
  • Confident and professional manner with a strong customer, supplier and stakeholder service mindset.
  • Team player who is approachable, collaborative and comfortable working across functions and international teams.
  • Strong numerical, analytical and reconciliation skills with excellent attention to detail and a control-focused mindset.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to manage queries, sensitive supplier data and escalations effectively.

Responsibilities

  • Resolve unmatched credit card transactions to complete Travel Counsellors VCC reconciliations accurately and within agreed timelines.
  • Reconcile multi-currency VCC payments and calculate the appropriate home-currency equivalent, investigating and resolving exchange or settlement differences.
  • Complete card statement reconciliations and authorise transactions against client bookings in line with agreed financial controls.
  • Liaise with internal departments and international head offices to resolve VCC payment queries, discrepancies and aged exceptions.
  • Create manual virtual credit cards where required, ensuring appropriate approvals, accuracy and auditability.
  • Manage incoming AP tickets, triaging each request to the correct resolution route and maintaining timely, clear communication with stakeholders.
  • Manage Freshchat queries and operational escalations, including payment escalations, ensuring issues are prioritised and driven through to resolution.
  • Handle internal stakeholder escalations professionally, identifying financial or operational risk and escalating material issues appropriately.
  • Support Travel Control / Creditors compliance and management activities, ensuring processes are completed in line with agreed governance requirements.
  • Provide audit support by maintaining clear evidence, accurate records and timely responses to information requests.
  • Complete supplier onboarding checks and communicate with Commercial on new suppliers, ensuring governance requirements are met before activation.
  • Perform bank-detail verification and fraud-prevention controls, escalating exceptions or concerns in accordance with agreed procedures.
  • Process supplier master data changes and maintain ongoing supplier-data hygiene, ensuring records remain complete, accurate and appropriately controlled.
  • Support Purchase Ledger activities as required, ensuring transactions and supplier records are processed accurately and in line with P2P controls.
  • Monitor exceptions, recurring issues and operational trends, using root cause analysis to identify opportunities to strengthen controls and improve the end-to-end P2P process.

About The Role

This role works as part of the P2P Operations team to deliver robust financial control across virtual credit card (VCC) reconciliations, supplier onboarding governance, compliance, query management and supplier master data. The P2P Operations Analyst will investigate and resolve payment and reconciliation exceptions, complete supplier and bank-detail checks, manage operational queries and escalations, and maintain accurate supplier data. The role requires a detail-focused transactional finance professional who can apply strong controls, work confidently across multiple currencies and systems, and collaborate with internal stakeholders to protect Travel Counsellors from financial, fraud and compliance risk.

Principal Accountabilities
