The opportunity

As a Financial Monitoring Assessor, you'll be responsible for assessing the solvency, fitness, and propriety of all Appointed Representatives by investigating their financial soundness. You should be competent in understanding and interpreting financial monitoring risks, analyzing and assessing these risks, and making sound judgments. This is a hybrid position based in our Swindon office, requiring 2 days per week in the office.

Key Accountabilities:

  • Checking Financial Monitoring data in accordance with AR Financial Monitoring policy, ensuring accuracy and quality standards.
  • Proactively identifying trends and suggesting improvements.
  • Identifying errors and escalating risks.
  • Building relationships with Appointed Representatives, providing advice and guidance as needed.

What will you need to succeed?

  • Experience in a financial services organization, preferably within an AR network.
  • Experience with Financial Crime & ALM investigations.
  • Experience assessing financial solvency of Sole Traders, Partnerships, and Limited companies.
  • Level 4 / Diploma qualification is advantageous.
  • Level 1 Accountancy qualification is desirable.
  • Understanding of FCA guidance.
  • Moderate investigative skills and knowledge of investigative techniques.
  • Knowledge of ‘treating customers fairly’ principles.
  • Understanding of business structures, goals, and plans.
  • Awareness of data protection legislation.
  • Knowledge of Anti Money Laundering applications.
  • Keen attention to detail and analytical skills.
  • Sound judgment and decision-making skills.
  • Strong relationship and interpersonal skills.
  • Logical, methodical approach and ability to work under pressure.
  • Ability to prioritize, organize, and analyze complex financial data to assess AR firms’ financial health and risks.
  • Ability to develop high-quality, timely oversight reports, identifying root causes, themes, and trends.
