Financial Modeller - 12 month FTC

Location: Hampton, Peterborough

Salary: Competitive

Hours: Full time, 12-month Fixed Term Contract

The Role

As a Financial Modeller you would be responsible for designing and developing financial models, performing financial analysis, and presenting findings to stakeholders. You will use your expertise to forecast financial performance, assess risks, and support business decisions.

Key Responsibilities

* Model Development: Building and maintaining complex financial models in Excel, often including detailed projections, sensitivity analyses, and scenario planning.

* Model Validation and Improvement: Ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial models and identifying areas for improvement.

* Financial Analysis: Analysing historical and current financial data, performing variance analysis, and identifying key trends and risks.

* Scenario Analysis: Conducting sensitivity analysis and scenario planning to assess the potential impact of different assumptions and scenarios on financial performance.

* Reporting and Presentation: Preparing and delivering clear and concise reports and presentations to stakeholders, including senior management and external parties.

* Business Partnering: Collaborating with cross-functional teams to understand business needs and develop financial solutions that align with business objectives.

* Risk Assessment: Identifying and quantifying financial and non-financial risks, and recommending mitigation strategies.

* Support for Due Diligence: Supporting financial due diligence processes for mergers, acquisitions, and other strategic transactions.

Skills and Qualifications

* Strong Financial Modelling Skills: Proficiency in building and using financial models in Excel, including experience with three-statement modelling, sensitivity analysis, and scenario planning.

* Financial Analysis Skills: Experience in performing financial analysis, including variance analysis, trend analysis, and profitability analysis.

* Data Analysis and Interpretation: Ability to collect, analyse, and interpret financial data from various sources.

* Communication and Presentation Skills: Ability to clearly and concisely communicate financial information to both technical and non-technical audiences.

* Business Acumen: Understanding of business operations and financial implications of different business decisions.

* Technical Skills: Proficiency in using relevant software, including Excel, database programs, and statistical packages.

* Problem-Solving Skills: Ability to identify and resolve issues related to financial models and data.
