Job summary

Michael Page Finance is seeking a Financial Modeller to design and refine Excel-based financial models for an insurance project in London. This temporary role offers a hybrid work model and requires close collaboration with stakeholders to ensure models are accurate and tailored to business needs.

You will build a scalable sub-consolidation framework, process 200+ trial balances across units, and generate P&L, balance sheet and cash flow outputs.

Qualifications

• Advanced Excel modelling expertise.
• Experience developing complex financial models within large, international organisations.
• Strong group consolidation experience.
• Experience working with significant volumes of trial balance data.
• Excellent understanding of financial statements, including P&L, Balance Sheet and Cash Flow reporting.
• Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Design and build a scalable Excel-based sub-consolidation framework.
• Develop models capable of processing 200+ trial balances across multiple business units and reporting views.
• Create reporting outputs covering Profit & Loss, Balance Sheet and Cash Flow statements.
• Implement a structured adjustment layer for consolidation journals, eliminations and reclassifications.
• Build controls and reconciliation processes to ensure outputs align with the main group consolidation.
• Support the creation of multiple reporting scenarios and future expansion of the model architecture.
• Produce clear documentation and model user guides.
• Work closely with finance stakeholders to ensure reporting requirements are fully met.
• Deliver knowledge transfer and training to internal teams at the conclusion of the assignment.

Job Offer

• Daily rate of £540 to £650 umbrella, dependent on the level of experience.
• Temporary contract based in London.
• Flexible and hybrid working model.
