Overview
We are looking for 2 enthusiastic and motivated Financial Management Assistants to work closely with the team to report an accurate and timely monthly financial position and with budget holders to support the financial sustainability of the organisation.
Responsibilities
- Assist and support the Finance Reporting Manager and other Financial Management colleagues in providing a range of financial services to a specified division/s.
- Ensure all month end transaction processes and procedures are accurately completed in the required time frames.
- Build and maintain close working relationships within the department and with colleagues across the Trust; be confident in presenting financial information to non-finance budget holders.
- Work flexibly on varying tasks and procedures and prioritise as required. Be proactive in developing knowledge and taking responsibility.

- Salary: £31,049 to £37,796 per year (pro rata)

Qualifications
- Essential – Education, qualifications & training: Pursuing a CCAB or CIMA qualification or relevant experience at an appropriate level; educated to degree level or equivalent.
Experience
- Essential – Experience of working with large volumes of financial data.
- Essential – Experience of completing month end processes with knowledge of accruals and prepayments.
- Essential – Experience of using general ledger and report writing software packages.
- Desirable – NHS experience or previous financial management experience in a similar sized organisation.
Skills, Abilities & Knowledge
- Proficient in Excel (lookups, pivot tables).
- Analytical skills to identify key themes and trends.
- Clear communication to present complex financial information to non-finance stakeholders.
- Engagement with budget holders/managers to reflect intelligence in monthly reporting.
- Ability to work with minimal supervision and as part of a team; use initiative.
- High accuracy and attention to detail; ability to work under pressure and multi-task.
Special Circumstances
- Ability to travel to hospital sites as required.
- Hybrid working required with at least 2 days in the office.
