Internal Controls over Financial Reporting (ICOFR) are central to maintaining the integrity of financial reporting, ensuring compliance with regulations, and fostering trust among investors and stakeholders. By implementing robust ICOFR controls, companies can safeguard their financial health and reputation, ultimately facilitating long-term success.

IT systems play a crucial role in facilitating Internal Control over Financial Reporting (ICOFR) by ensuring the accuracy, reliability, and security of financial information.

BT’s financial control framework is undergoing significant change as part of the Digital Transformation. It is critical that the transformation programmes design processes and controls aligned with the strong ICOFR framework. Working with operational and transformation teams across the company, you will set objectives, define IT control accountabilities, and help prioritize and deliver continuous improvements and high standards in reporting.

What you’ll be doing

• Assess and identify risks related to IT systems and financial reporting.
• Design and implement IT controls to mitigate identified risks, including Continuous Controls Monitoring and assurance controls.
• Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of IT controls.
• Collaborate with IT and finance teams to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
• Prepare and present reports and dashboards (including in SAP) on IT control effectiveness to senior management.
• Support Senior Manager and key stakeholders in Risk and compliance teams. Work as part of a small team of ICOFR controls and assurance specialists.
• Support horizon scanning for emerging risks and applications necessary for ICOFR controls.
• Support BT Transformation projects in developing and implementing controls aligned with standards and guidelines for the BT IT framework for ICOFR.
• Design, develop, and maintain BT’s 2LoD Policies, Standards, and Guidelines.

The skills you'll need

• Experience in managing complex IT controls with business sponsors and IT delivery teams.
• Ability to manage stakeholders in a complex environment of business and audit risk.
• Good knowledge of risk management and Enterprise Risk Management practices.
• Experience with ICOFR controls, compliance frameworks, and assurance through the three lines of defence model.
• Experience ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and internal policies.
• Core project and programme management skills.
