Help conduct investigations into a range of financial cases. Join now as a Detective Constable for the EMSOU Financial Investigation team!

We are recruiting for a Detective Constable to help conduct investigations into financial offences predominantly at P2 and P1 level. The post-holder will develop intelligence, gather evidence in support of prosecutions, and undertake the restraint and confiscation of criminal assets as directed by the Head of Department.

Overview Of The Role

  • You will be responsible for the financial investigation of suspects in order to identify, restrain and confiscate criminally obtained assets, including the seizure of cash and subsequent forfeiture procedures.
  • You will disseminate intelligence in the appropriate manner, to relevant organisations, departments and/or individuals, whilst maintaining the required confidentiality, sensitivity and duty of care.
  • You will evaluate information to support action – evaluate and assess the value of information identifying relevant patterns and trends. Use the information to take appropriate action and achieve desired outcomes.

Due to the nature of the role, candidates will need to be able to travel throughout the UK when required.

Security Requirements - This post requires regular access to sensitive material and applicants must hold or be prepared to undergo enhanced security clearance before taking up the post.

The material may be of sensitivity to the UK and may therefore be restricted to UK nationals. In approved circumstances, dual nationals (of which one element is British) may be granted access. However, if potential conflicts of interest cannot be managed, the post holder will not be permitted access to the systems or material required for the role and will not therefore be able to perform their duties. For the purposes of safeguarding national security, applicants who do not hold or achieve the required levels of security clearance requirements cannot be offered the post.
