Thames Valley Police is seeking two motivated Financial Intelligence Officers for the South East Regional Crypto Currency Unit. This role involves financial investigation and will require successful candidates to undergo specialized training in cryptocurrency tracking. The position offers flexible working arrangements and is part of a diverse team focused on innovative law enforcement.
We are seeking two highly motivated individuals to become Financial Intelligence Officers within the South East Regional Crypto Currency Unit at SEROCU. The successful candidates will join an established and nationally recognized team due to the expansion of the existing capability, planned to commence in January 2026.
Applications are invited from accredited Financial Intelligence Officers who have attended and passed national training. We are also interested in applications from individuals with an interest in financial investigation and experience working in intelligence or with cryptocurrencies.
Successful candidates will need to be driven to learn and develop, acknowledging the challenging pathway to learn to track, trace, and seize cryptocurrencies while achieving FIO status. They will be required to attend and pass training to acquire the necessary skills for the role.
The role requires adaptability to join a forward-thinking team at the forefront of law enforcement efforts responding to increased use of cryptocurrencies. This is a unique and exciting opportunity that offers a challenging and rewarding role, where no two days are the same.
The post holder will be expected to contribute to an on-call rota.
Our working hours are Monday to Friday, from 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM. We offer flexible and remote working options, with staff required to work from the office two days a week.
Please note that this role is part of a national, regional, and local network, and you may be required to travel across the southeast region and occasionally throughout the UK. Therefore, the successful candidate will require a full UK driving licence.
Due to the nature of our work, security is paramount. The successful candidate must obtain and maintain vetting level SC and undergo various security checks. You must have resided in the UK for the past five years, with exemptions possible for overseas or diplomatic service.
