Finance Director - Psicon, Canterbury

Are you a commercially focused, hands-on Finance Director with a passion for value creation and business transformation?

This is a rare and exciting opportunity to join Psicon, a £40m turnover, fast-growing subsidiary of a private equity–backed healthcare group. Operating at the forefront of psychological and neurodevelopmental care, Psicon is nationally recognised for delivering high-quality, person-centred clinical services that make a meaningful difference to thousands of lives every year.

As Finance Director, you will:

• Lead Psicon’s Finance Team with energy, integrity, and accountability
• Drive all aspects of financial strategy, budgeting, forecasting, reporting and controls
• Champion performance across key financial metrics including cash generation, profitability, and working capital optimisation
• Partner with senior leadership to support strategic and operational decision-making
• Deliver robust financial planning, insight and challenge in a fast-paced, change-driven environment
• Support and lead system and process improvements to enable scalable, sustainable growth
• Ensure full compliance with governance, risk, audit and statutory frameworks

You’ll be both strategic and hands-on, with the credibility to influence the board and the capability to improve processes on the ground.

We are looking for:

• A fully qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent)
• Senior finance leadership experience in a high-growth, commercially driven environment
• Strong grasp of cash management, controls, planning, and reporting
• Proven success in leading finance teams and delivering business transformation
• Commercially sharp with the ability to translate numbers into action
• A proactive problem solver, comfortable operating with pace and ambiguity
• Experience in private equity-backed businesses or healthcare (desirable, not essential)
